Chris Makondetsa, known professionally as ChrisMaks, is a Malawian singer, songwriter, composer, and pastor. Born on October 28, 1993 in Mulanje, Malawi,he is the first born in a family of three boys of Mr and Mrs Makondetsa from Nkhonya village T/A Chikumbu in Mulanje.He did his primary School in several Schools such as Mulanje Mission primary and Kabwabwa L.E.A primary School in Lilongwe. He did his Secondary school at Mulanje mission CDSS.Makondetsa has been a member of SCOM and he was the chairman at Mulanje mission CDSS from 2011-2012,Chair person of Evangelism at his Church,Chris Makondetsa is Single/not married and also a member of CCAP Church at St Andrews in Mulanje.He made a significant impact in the gospel music scene since he ventured into this music ministry,and he has a number of songs that are enjoyed by many Radio and Television Stations in Malawi eg Dzina lanu, I belong to you,more of you,behind,Revival,love in your ne,Crossover, my Secret place Etc.Chris is planning to Lunch his first music Album in 2024.
Some of the Studios he has visited and do recordings are as follows Weapons Studio, 123 records,OBK Studio and Natural works records.He has been invited in so many places to minister through music for example Fountain of victory Church, Living waters church,word alive,RFP,Healing Convention Church, Life Ambassadors ministry etc just to mention a few.Currently Chris is staying in Mulanje and he is working as a Messenger at Mulanje district Council.
His musical journey began a day after receiving life through Jesus Christ, and he is into various genres, including RnB, Pop, Rock, and Urban Contemporary gospel. Although he hasn’t released a full album yet, his singles have resonated with audiences, and one of his notable tracks is I Belong to you.
ChrisMaks is passionate about using his music to touch souls and spread the message of faith. His dedication to his ministry is evident, and he continues to inspire listeners with his heartfelt compositions.Chris is also registered musician under Copyright Society of Malawi(COSOMA )and his music can be found in different social media platforms.
Gospel fraternity is expecting more from Chris Makondetsa because he has shown that he has great passion for the things of God.
